Hashbrown - Rap Mayor 2 Landslide

Houston rapper HashBrown returns with the sequel to 2010's Rap Mayor, Rap Mayor 2: Landslide.  Where RM1 felt rushed and didn't flow together, it had standout tracks and RM2 flows nicely but doesn't have as many standout tracks.  I'll take the latter because to me putting together a concentrated project for more than 8 songs has become a dying breed.

The thing you must know about Hash is that he is a Rappers Rapper, you can tell he studies great predecessors and wants to be in there company.  He attacks each track with vivid imagery and extensive vocabulary but lacks a smooth flow.  That's not as bad as it seems, but the concentration and the need to make sure he's seen as a lyricist can get in the way of him not thinking about what he's saying  and just having fun rapping. Hash often clashes witht he beat messing up the flow of the song a la Freeway.  We all love Freeway, but definitely would love a smoother sound, but if he gave us a smoother sound, then we wouldn't get the ferocious rap that we LOVE, its a catch 22!

Rap Mayor 2 is solid, 7/10, a good mix of original and freestyle downlowd below
